Joseph Palmeri of Tulsa, a talented and
well-educated anesthesiologist, serves his community of Tulsa, Oklahoma with
passion and technical skill. He received his Bachelor degree from Oklahoma
State University before going on to complete Medical School at the University
of Oklahoma. He completed his anesthesiology residency at New York University
in 2012, where he was the Chief Resident. He believes that being involved with
your undergraduate university is an often overlooked opportunity to put
yourself in a better position to pursue the career of your dreams.
While a student at Oklahoma State
University, Joseph Palmeri of Tulsa worked in the Student Union as a tutor for
other students in chemistry, physics, and biology. He worked at St. John's
Hospital over two summers as a nurse assistant in the operating room. Between
his time at Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma, he taught
Kaplan preparation courses to prospective medical, dentist, and pharmacy
students.
One way to become involved with your
university, says Joseph Palmeri of Tulsa, is to actively engage your professors
with questions. Your professors will appreciate the passion you display for
their studies and do their best to use their resources to your fullest
advantage. Professors are a valuable way to gain information regarding both
prerequisite material and the nature of your career path. “I would not be in
the position I am in today if I did not view my professors as a valuable
resource,” says Joseph Palmeri of Tulsa.
